Employment Physical
Employment Physical
Pre-employment physicals provides results indicating if the person being tested is "fit for duty". Components include: basic vision screenings, vital testing, a physical, urine drug test and a review of basic health history.
A Department of Transportation (DOT) physical covers a variety of variables to ensure that the employee is actually adequate to work. During a DOT physical, vision, hearing and blood pressure screening is checked accordingly as well as an eye test to look for proper dilation and appropriate eye movement.
Anyone who works in a public setting or overwatches authority such as a commercial truck driver or an airplane attendant would have to undergo a physical to ensure they are in good health to work safely.
A DOT medical certification is good for two years.
