Aunt/Uncle DNA Test - Self Administered

The Avuncular DNA Test can be used to determine if two individuals are related to each other as aunt–nephew/niece or as uncle–nephew/niece.

This test compares the donor DNA to the DNA of their biological mother, as well as the DNA from one full sibling of the child’s alleged father. This is an indirect test to determine a biological relationship.

As siblings share roughly 50% of their DNA, a niece or nephew would share approximately 25% of their DNA with their aunt or uncle. Our accredited laboratory will test for 24 genetic markers to ensure your results the highest accuracy.

The results can be used for legal purposes. Examples of legal settings that may require this type of test include but are not limited to: 

• Adding or removing a father’s name from a child’s birth certificate
• Child support
• Adoption
• Child custody or visitation
• Immigration
• Medical, Social Security, or Military benefits
